The gap between a stovetop and the bench beside it is where crumbs, oil and spilled sauce disappear, and it is almost impossible to clean once they are down there. These silicone strips seal it off. Lay one along each side, press it flat, and the gap simply stops existing — spills land on the strip and wipe away instead of collecting underneath.
The silicone is heat resistant, so a strip can sit directly against a gas or electric cooktop without warping, and it is flexible enough to conform to an uneven bench edge or a slightly raised stove lip. When it needs a proper clean, peel it up, wash it in the sink or the dishwasher, dry it and lay it back down. Nothing adheres permanently and nothing marks the bench.
Six options cover common stove widths at 21, 25 and 30 inches, in black or white so it either disappears against the appliance or matches a light benchtop. It also works along the sides of a washing machine, dryer or dishwasher. Keep the strip clear of open flame and burner elements, and replace it if it becomes torn, scorched or brittle.
